The Impact Youll Make in this Role As a Material Reinvent Product Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Working alongside a multi-functional team to identify, evaluate, and qualify alternative materials used in Solventum medical devices, combination devices, drug products, and components. Collaborating with the Solventum research & development organization to reformulate or redesign input materials where needed to enhance performance or quality characteristics. Pursuing united goals with cross-functional global teams composed of members from manufacturing, product stewardship, clinical, quality, and multiple other functions. Visiting and forming great working relationships with identified third party and internal manufacturing locations to facilitate qualifications. Strategically requesting and managing confidential information internally and with third parties on a need-to-know basis. Leading or supporting major projects by maintaining clear project schedules, presenting status to multiple types of stakeholders, and driving the successful attainment of milestones. Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelors degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution AND seven (7) years of experience developing, supporting and/or maintaining commercialized products in a private, public, government or military environment OR High School Diploma/GED AND eleven (11) years of experience developing, supporting and/or maintaining commercialized products in a private, public, government or military environment AND In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required: Three (3) years of product and/or manufacturing experience in the medical device industry and/or medical device Quality Management Systems (QMS) Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Knowledge of change management, familiarity with qualification procedures (process validation, design verification), and competency in creative problem solving. Demonstrated knowledge and use of project management techniques to lead cross functional teams in projects that drive improvement and results. Experience collaborating with laboratory, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing functions. Statistical knowledge and practice [e.g., Design of Experiments (DOE), sampling, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Product & Process Understanding (PPU), Lean Six Sigma, etc.] Significant experience supporting drug or combination products Strong communication skills (written, oral, and presentation) and systems proficiency. Material science / process competencies in one or more of the following areas: (1) Adhesives / tapes (2) Solution polymers (3) Film extrusion and / or lamination of multiple substrates (4) Product and/or process liners (5) Nonwoven materials Work location: Hybrid (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to either Maplewood, MN or Brookings, SD) Travel: May include up to 20% domestic/ international Relocation Assistance: May be authorized Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status). Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $124,000 - $170,500, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidates relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
