Position Summary: Launch is our new pathway for graduates stepping directly into permanent roles. Youll join an engaged, multi-disciplinary team of engineers who will help you understand the controls software landscape and gain exposure to its many dimensions. In this role, youll be based in the Electrical, Electronics, Software, Control System Design, and System Security (E24S) capability group. This group sits within Rolls-Royce Engineering, Technology and Safety - the central home for engineering expertise across the Rolls-Royce group. The E24S group is made up of a diverse team of engineers specializing in traditional and model-based software, systems, electronics, electrical power, and system security. The team works collaboratively across design, integration, testing, in-service support and supply chain management to meet customer needs. What youll be doing: Youll work on a wide range of projects to support Rolls-Royces diverse customer base and are responsible for tasks including, but not limited to: software design, software integration, software verification, and system simulation. In this role, youll contribute to the design and development of power and propulsion systems, working on a cross-functional, agile team under the guidance of a Senior Engineer. Opportunities include developing software requirements with internal and external customers; designing and implementing software (both traditional and model-based); and integrating and testing control systems using hardware-in-the-loop simulators and real engines. Who were looking for: Strong interpersonal skills, intellectual curiosity and the ability to solve problems using analytical and critical thinking Ability to solve problems efficiently and effectively Knowledge/experience using compiled and scripted language Knowledge/experience with MATLAB and Simulink Knowledge of closed-loop feedback controls systems Good written and oral communication to a variety of audiences (e.g., team members, technical experts and management) Demonstration of presentation skills both orally as well as visual management Ability to travel to worksites to perform responsibilities Our behaviours drive us - we put safety first, do the right thing, keep it simple and make a difference.
