They will review and complete the required daily paperwork and will always be in full uniform while working. Lift Attendants will assist lift maintenance staff in starting and clearing the lifts for daily operations. Being a Lift Attendant is an outside job in all types of harsh winter weather that may involve long periods of standing. The job will require heavy snow shoveling. Additional job duties are to keep the Ski and Ride school yurts clean, and assist instructors in maintaining order in their lessons. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities Operate the Surface Lift and maintain the operation log book. Maintain loading ramps and unloading ramps. Especially at the end of the shift. Set up perimeter ropes, fences, and signs. Assist guests in loading and unloading the magic carpet, which may include helping them stand from a fall. Report lift operation problems to the Supervisor. Teamwork, monitor, and be fair during break and lunch times. Shovel Snow. Secondary Function Tech Rental equipment for Mountain Rippers. Clean Ski and Ride school facilities and equipment. Fill water and hot chocolate containers. Serve Lunch for full-day lessons. Assist instructors in maintaining order in their lessons, run children inside for breaks, and potentially move children between instructors. There is potential for you to ski/ride to assist with lessons on the chairlift or surface lift. You may be called upon to teach a lesson during busy holiday circumstances. If you are not a skier, you will be taught and trained to teach a beginner class. Job Scope You will be expected to maintain your composure and energetic personality during busy and high-stress situations. There will be moments of downtime, and we expect you to have the initiative to find a task instead of doing nothing. Interpersonal Contacts Parents, Children, Instructors, Sales Staff, & Lodge Services Specific Job Skills License/Certifications: Food Handlers Card preferred Technical: Child Development background a plus Physical Capabilities: Able to remain standing for extended periods in all weather conditions, able to walk on uneven surfaces, and able to shovel large amounts of snow. Additional: Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a criminal background check will be conducted after the position is accepted. This background check will be done in accordance with standards enacted under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Education/Related Experience Minimum Time in Related Position(s): Some experience working with children is preferred.
