Performance Requirements: Perform duties to set up and operate automatic press to blank steel friction core plates in accordance with customer requirements and high-quality standards. Work from set up procedures, press operating procedures, control plans, control plan addendums, and instructions: Inspect first piece parts visually for defects and using gauges to ensure correct finished part flatness dimensions, hardness and concentricity. Review with Floor Leader for signoff on job set up. Inspect parts throughout production run in accordance with control plan to ensure critical dimensions and finished standards are maintained and enter data onto operator check sheet. Troubleshoot and inspect tooling and material to resolve product quality problems. Clear material jams in press as required. Notify Team Leader or Technician of unusual equipment or material problems. Clean respective work center removing scrap from area and conduct daily press safety checks. Break down setups on job changes and transport and store all production tooling as prescribed. Ensure tools are sharpened or inspected on a periodic basis and produce prototype parts as required. Maintain and prepare required setup and production records. Use gauges, micrometer, hardness tester, power die cart, manual die cart, hoist computer terminals and hand tools. Follow safety rules and keep work area in clean and orderly condition. Perform other related duties as assigned. Pay Range: $19.63-$28.40 Internal Candidates: Eligibility to Bid Employees with less than one year of service are only eligible to bid on higher paying labor grade positions. Employees with more than one year of service will receive first consideration. Employees in a Disciplinary Step 1 are eligible to bid on any job. Employees in Step 2 are eligible to bid on any job after 1 year. Employees in Step 3 are eligible to bid on any job after 1 year. If an employee accepted a new position, they cannot bid on the same or lower paying labor grade for 1 year.
