We have a fantastic opportunity for a Full-time Security Officer at our Montefiore New Rochelle Facility Job Summary The Security Officer provides Security and related assignments to ensure the safety of the Medical Center's patients, visitor, and staff. The Security Officer prevents destructive acts to the Medical Center's property and will perform related duties as required. Responsibilities: Guards and secures designated entrances/exits to insure that only patients, employees, and authorized visitors enter the Facility. Patrols specific areas in and around the Facility. Interacts and cooperates with Montefiore Staff in scheduled rounds and in response to ad hoc Security issues. Monitors flow of visitors into and within Facility providing directions to specific authorized destinations. Responds to emergency/unusual situation in facility including fires, disturbances, disruptive patients, or visitors and other occurrences when assistance is required or needed by the staff according to Montefiore procedures and policies. Check authorizations to remove Medical Center property from Facility, safeguards facility, patient, and employee property according to Montefiore procedures and policies. Conducts initial investigation of incidents and prepares and submits all required reports according to Montefiore procedures and policies. Exercise constant vigilance in reference to patients, staff, and visitors within facility, receives complaints and suggestions from staff and communicates these responses to supervisor. Performs ancillary support functions including but not limited to morgue operations, vehicular traffic control, off hours receipt of packages, information desk duties, and transporting people or packages between Montefiore facilities. Performs all related duties as assigned by Security Supervisor as required. Required: High School Diploma/G.E.D. required. 3 years of work experience required. Completion of a New York State approved Security Guard approved Security Guard Training program required. NYS Guard Registration License required. CPI Certification required. CPR & Basic First Aid Certification required. Preferred: NYS Class 4 Drivers License preferred.
