Supports the Finance team Salary up to: $57,500.00 Position Summary The Accounts Payable Accountant is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of financial transactions related to vendor payments, reimbursements, and other disbursements in compliance with state statutes, agency policy, and statewide accounting procedures. This is a customer service-oriented position and requires a high level of communication with vendors and other state agencies by email and phone. This position also requires a strong attention to detail. Responsibilities Maintains payment files in proper order and ensure payments are being completed timely Accurately processes invoices, reimbursements and other disbursements for payment Researches and reviews purchase orders and contracts for payment terms and conditions Resolves invoice and travel issues by collaborating with internal team members and vendors Other duties as assigned Physical Demands and Work Environment This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the work day. The noise level in the work environment is usually mild. Occasional travel may be required. Minimum Qualifications A Bachelors degree in accounting, business, finance, or a closely related field, or equivalent and; One (1) year of clerical, bookkeeping, or accounting experience or; A combination of education and experience, substituting one year of experience for each year of the required degree.
