Job Description Purpose of the role To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. Accountabilities Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance. Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives. Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing. Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organizations technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth. Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions. Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability. Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions. Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function. Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes. Barclays Services Corp seeks Developer in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available): Design, develop and support Volcker application under Market Risk umbrella. Enable reporting of all metrics mandated by regulators while coordinating with stakeholders like Volcker central Risk, Volcker central finance, market operations and rigor along with investment banking middle office teams to generate submission files which are signed off by relevant leads. Involve building Volcker modules based on existing market risk systems and rewriting components based on target state architecture. Involve interactions with various teams within Barclays like upstream asset classes, static and reference data, metric providers and other infra teams. Provide support for external and internal hardware and vendor products used in technology stack. Use lean control and regular scrums to solve complex business problem and technical challenges in a fast paced environment by innovating and adopting new technologies. Utilize Business Intelligence layer to layer multi-dimensional data and business products across Credit, Rates, Equities, FX etc. May telecommute. Minimum Salary: $131,997.00 per year Maximum Salary: $170,000.00 per year The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
