Full Job Description

This job will be accepting job applications until the position is filled. Annual Salary: $39,819.00 - $41,008.50 Hourly: $20.42 - $21.03 Department: Culture & Recreation, Recreation Division: Recreation Facility Operations FLSA: Non-Exempt Job Description: This role will coordinate activities of paid and volunteer recreation service personnel in community centers, playgrounds, and other recreation facilities. Examples of Duties: Develops and promotes recreation programs, including music, dance, arts and crafts, cultural arts, nature study, swimming, social recreation and games, and camping. Adapts recreation programs to meet needs of the department and the community. Introduces new program activities, equipment, and materials to staff. Interprets recreation service to public and participates in community meetings and organizational planning. Works with other recreation personnel to ensure that recreation is well balanced, coordinated, and integrated. Performs other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: Two years of related experience and/or training High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience Valid state issued driver's license CPR certification First Aid certification preferred Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel and Word or similar software Preferred Qualifications: Certified Park and Recreation (CPRP) Professional The City of Charleston is firmly committed to Equal Employment Opportunity ( EEOC) as a fundamental policy to be implemented and observed in our daily operation.
