Salary: $18.00 hourly Department Transportation Performs unskilled and semi-skilled manual work involving general minor maintenance tasks in City parking facilities such as masonry, painting, cleaning of tools and equipment, checking fluid levels on equipment; testing generators and fire pumps, checking and servicing vehicle tires and batteries; cleaning parking facilities by washing down surfaces using pressure cleaners, sweeping, mopping, empties trash containers and washing floors; replenishing supplies in restrooms, etc. Loads and unloads trucks with tools and materials for transport to and from work sites. Performs maintenance tasks utilizing power equipment requiring some manipulative skills. WORK SCHEDULE AND LOCATION: Average hours vary up to 30 hours per week. Some weekends, nights and holiday work required. Schedule subject to change based on division needs. Work locations include various parking garages in and around Downtown Orlando. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Ability to read, write and follow instructions. Ability to work without close supervision once tasks are learned. Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, often under hot and humid environmental conditions. Ability to climb stairs and use ladders. Ability to operate pressure washer, EZ-GO, and lawnmower. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Some experience in cleaning and repairs preferred. Valid Florida driver license required. THIS IS A PART_TIME_POSITION WITH NO GUARANTEE OF A CERTAIN NUMBER OF HOURS AND NO BENEFITS. THIS POSITION INVOLVES WORKING ON A TEMP/SEASONAL CONTRACT WHICH CAN BE RENEWED ANNUALLY BASED ON PERFORMANCE AND BUSINESS NEEED.
