The opportunity to improve health on a global scale stands before us. Meet the team: Dexcom is hiring for a Senior Process Development Engineer to join our dynamic team in San Diego, CA. In this position within the Global Engineering Organization, you will support process development, validation and implementation for mechanical and analytical test methods. You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, and Supplier Quality teams to develop test capabilities that enable material characterization, process monitoring, root cause investigations, and commercial manufacturing support. Where you come in: Support process and test method development for the manufacture and testing of materials and products. Define process/test requirements based on design inputs/outputs, material properties and key product performance parameters. Plan, execute and document experiments to characterize new processes and test methods. Compile, trend, and evaluate test data to characterize process variables and define process limits. Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Automation, Software, Analytical Chemistry, and other Engineering teams to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and support implementation of new processes. Prepare technical documentation including protocols, reports, procedures, study summaries, and inputs to risk documentation such as pFMEAs. Participate in design reviews, process reviews, failure investigations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities for new and existing products/processes. What makes you successful: Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, bioengineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, biomedical engineering, or a related technical discipline. Foundational understanding of process development, manufacturing processes, test method development, engineering experimentation, and problem solving. Ability to execute hands-on lab, manufacturing, and test activities with attention to detail, safety, and documentation. Exposure to DOE, statistical analysis, data visualization, root cause analysis, or statistical software such as JMP, Minitab, Python, Excel, or equivalent tools is preferred. Experience in regulated medical device spaces, including FDA 21 CFR 820 and ISO 13485 requirements. Strong communication skills with the ability to write clear technical protocols, reports and procedures Demonstrated curiosity, ownership, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
