Job Title: Mascot, NHL Pay Details: The starting hourly rate range for this position is $25.00 to $40.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate offered will take internal value, peer equity, job-related factors, and other organizational considerations into account. This position pays between $25.00 and $40.00 per hour, depending on the specific duties and responsibilities assigned. The Anaheim Ducks are searching for a creative and energetic professional to perform as a back-up Mascot at Ducks events, promotions, and other appearances. The ideal candidate will have experience performing as a Mascot. The position requires excellent non-verbal communication skills, a creative, engaging and outgoing personality, and a strong desire to work in professional sports as a brand ambassador. This is a part-time event-based position. Responsibilities Represent the Anaheim Ducks at all public appearances as an ambassador of the Anaheim Ducks brand as defined by the Game Presentation Team Serve as a performer, when necessary, for in-game, external events, or sponsored elements, and assist in pre-game, in-game, and intermission features Assist with marketing initiatives including city wide pop-up events, street teams, video shoots and watch-parties Perform at off-site events (i.e., organization events, street hockey/school programs, sports tournaments, private and sponsor appearances, etc.) as Mascot Protect the brand of Wild Wing and the Anaheim Ducks with a high level of professionalism, character, and trust when performing as Mascot Work within the Game Presentation department for: skits, in-game activations, on-ice games, sponsorship requirements, autograph sessions, and other in-game needs as determined Assist in ideation sessions throughout the season (in-game skits, social media content, and external requests) Plan and execute skits Assist in administrative tasks including scheduling, planning appearances, and cleaning/maintaining of the mascot costume Sanitize and store the costume after each performance and conduct costume maintenance, including cleaning, minor repairs, and other necessary upkeep Assist with other tasks on an as-needed basis Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Creative and experienced Mascot or costumed character Live sports-related performance experience of any kind is preferred (i.e., theatre, dance, hype team, etc.) A great sense of humor when interacting with fans of all ages, especially children Willing to be coached to learn the personality of the character Possess nonverbal and improvisational skills Basic knowledge of hockey Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to ice skate is preferred Able to carry out appearances in Anaheim and surrounding areas Flexible schedule; must be primarily available on weekends, with flexibility in regards to nights, holidays and Anaheim Ducks home games Requires prolonged standing; able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, including up arena stairs Be able to withstand conditions within a mascot costume and/or outdoor appearances Able to work in outdoor conditions, including extreme heat and cold Safely drive "Promotional Vehicles" to and from events as needed; a valid drivers license and ability to be insured under the Companys insurance policy required Must be comfortable with heights and able to zipline Knowledge, Skills and Experience Education - High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience Required 1-2+ Years This position is on-site. Since opening, the arena has hosted over 3,500 events and more than 35 million guests have walked through its doors. Our History Owned by the city of Anaheim, Honda Center officially opened as Anaheim Arena on June 19, 1993 with a sold out Barry Manilow concert. In October of that same year, the venue was renamed Arrowhead Pond and hosted the first Mighty Ducks of Anaheim game. The year 2005 began a new era as Henry and Susan Samueli took ownership of both the team and the venue management company, Anaheim Arena Management, LLC. In 2006, the official name of the arena changed to Honda Center, along with the team to Anaheim Ducks. Honda Center continues to make improvements to the facility, all in the interest of creating a great experience for every visiting fan. The venues most expansive upgrade, The Grand Terrace Project, features a 15,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor entertainment space, a 250-seat full service restaurant on the main level and an expanded Anaheim Ducks team store. Ciscos state-of-the-art StadiumVision platform has been installed throughout the arena, incorporating more than 500 HD Monitors into the venue, creating a world class immersive live entertainment experience. Debuting in fall of 2015 was a brand-new scoreboard measuring 27 feet tall and 47 feet 10 inches wide. The six millimeter diode equipped hardware features 1248 x 2208 lines of resolution, the clearest and highest definition picture available in any North American venue.
