About the Role We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infrastructure team in Mobile, Alabama. In this role, you will serve as a senior technical authority responsible for designing, architecting, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions that support critical terminal operations. You will lead modernization initiatives across compute, virtualization, cloud, storage, and infrastructure platforms while partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to drive reliability, security, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Design and architect enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions across virtualization, compute, storage, backup, and cloud environments. Lead complex infrastructure projects from planning through implementation, including risk management and stakeholder engagement. Provide expert-level troubleshooting and serve as the final escalation point for critical infrastructure incidents. Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, technology roadmaps, and modernization strategies. Implement automation and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions to improve scalability, efficiency, and consistency. Drive security, compliance, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives across infrastructure platforms. Mentor infrastructure engineers and promote knowledge sharing, technical excellence, and best practices across the team. Evaluate emerging technologies and conduct proof-of-concept activities to assess business value and technical feasibility. Lead capacity planning and performance optimization initiatives across infrastructure environments. Conduct root cause analysis for major incidents and implement preventive measures to improve system reliability. Who We Are Looking For We recognize that experience comes in many forms. Strong experience designing and supporting enterprise virtualization environments, particularly VMware and ideally Nutanix. Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and a solid understanding of modern infrastructure architectures. Proven ability to lead complex technical projects and influence stakeholders across multiple functions. Strong understanding of infrastructure security, resilience, high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity principles. Experience developing automation solutions, infrastructure standards, and operational best practices. Experience mentoring junior and mid-level engineers and contributing to a culture of technical excellence. Fluent English communication skills are required; Spanish is considered a plus. Curiosity, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to researching and resolving technical challenges. Employment Details Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Location: Mobile, Alabama, United States (100% On-site) Work Schedule: Typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM On-Call Expectations: Participation in on-call support as needed; critical events are infrequent Salary Range: USD $90,000 to $110,000 annual base salary Work Authorization: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
