Diesel Mechanic Des Moines, IA Schedule: Monday - Friday (rotating Saturdays) | 12:00 PM 8:00 PM Pay: $28 - $35 per hour Company: Waste Connections of Iowa (a Waste Connections Company) Waste Connections is looking for a reliable Diesel Mechanic to help keep our fleet safe, roadready, and running strong. If you take pride in your work and care about safety, we want to talk to you. What Youll Do: Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel trucks and equipment Work on electrical, hydraulic, brake, suspension, and air systems Use diagnostic software and tools to find and fix issues Respond to road calls and make emergency repairs Complete repairs from Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) Test drive trucks after repairs Help other mechanics as needed Keep shop clean and safe (OSHA compliant) Communicate professionally with drivers and team members What Were Looking For: Experience working on diesel vehicles Comfortable using diagnostic tools and doing preventative maintenance Basic personal tool set Hydraulic experience is a plus What We Offer: Competitive pay: $28$35/hour MondayFriday schedule (rotating Saturdays) 401(k) with company match Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance Life and disability insurance Employee assistance & mental health programs Employee stock purchase plan Scholarship opportunities for dependents Waste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
