Job Description Waste Connections of Washington is looking for a Yard Laborer/Container Washer to work at our location in Vancouver, WA. Schedule is Monday Friday Shift is 12:30 PM - 9:00 PM Starting wage is $22.47/hour Safety Sensitive: Yes General Summary: Responsible for washing/sanitizing trucks, carts, containers, and bins in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner, in addition to general site clean-up duties as assigned. Position Responsibilities: Performs daily inspections of pressure washer and related equipment. Walk around visual inspection to check for water, oil, and fuel leaks. Inspects safety equipment, gauges, fluid levels and checks to ensure that all equipment and systems are operational. After startup, checks gauges and controls. Uses pressure washer to clean and sanitize plastic and metal containers for reuse up to 75-100 units/day. Manipulates pressure washer wand, and occasionally a brush, to clean debris and stains from previously used containers to make them fit to deliver to new customers. Gathers the necessary sizes and styles of containers to wash for the day to insure ensure efficient operation of other departments. Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Use of a non-CDL company vehicle to assist in spill cleanup efforts. Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Drivers License. Working knowledge of the pressure washer and its components and the basic maintenance requirements for safe & efficient operation. Ability to read and write & comprehend work orders and daily assignments well enough to complete basic reports. At least 1 year of work experience. Preferably in a labor type roll where you had to utilize customer service skills. The ability to stand and work outside throughout an 8-hour shift. The ability to lift 50 lbs regularly. Ability and willingness to work in all weather conditions. Must pass drug screen, pre-employment background check and have a clean motor vehicle report to be eligible for employment.
