Position Information The Research Technician II, under general supervision performs semi-skilled, technical support research work involving performance of assignments requiring modification and adaptation to routine procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on the successful completion of tasks assigned. AISLS lab is seeking a Research Technician for the ANSCI AI Labs INRMP Modernization Initiative. In this role, he/she supports the development of an AIenabled Integrated Natural Resources Management Plan (INRMP) engine and contributes to the creation of a dynamic living INRMP framework. His primary responsibilities include data curation, corpus engineering, preprocessing, structuring, and enabling machine-readable INRMP content for downstream AI/ML workflows. This position is essential to ensuring the reliability, integrity, and usability of all INRMP-related datasets powering Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), standardized content libraries, and prototype system architectures. Responsibilities: -INRMP Data Corpus Development & Management -Data Preprocessing & Structuring -Support for AI INRMP Engine Development -Data Integration for Living INRMP Framework -Contribution to Standardization & Retrofitting Tasks -Collaboration & Project Coordination -Collects samples and measurement data from experiments. Implements and maintains data collection and summarization of field trials. -Performs analysis and tests. Makes and records observations and scientific measurement. -Extracts, collects and compiles data. Computes quantitates and extends projections. -Assembles and operates technical equipment. -Performs other duties as assigned. -Assists senior staff members in conducting major field experiments and consults in developing procedures. Required Qualifications: -High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. -Three years of related experience. Preferred Qualifications: -Strong experience in data engineering and documentcentric data processing. -Expertise in transforming unstructured documents into structured formats (XML/JSON/semantic layers). Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: -Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. -Strong experience in data engineering and documentcentric data processing. -Expertise in transforming unstructured documents into structured formats (XML/JSON/semantic layers). -Working knowledge of RAG pipelines, LLM data curation, or AI system data requirements. -Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including AI/ML specialists, natural resources analysts, and integration engineers. -Ability to lift moderately heavy objects.
