Were actively seeking a talented Sr. Systems Analyst I to join our Institutional Technology Team in Newport Beach, CA. Youll work at our state-of-the-art Newport Beach headquarters. As a Systems Analyst I youll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by driving the development and enhancement of systems to meet evolving business needs. You will fill a new role that sits on a team of 4 people in a Pacific Life Technology team dedicated to our Institutional Division. Your colleagues will include Solution Analysts and an Agile Delivery Manager, along with fellow technology professionals. Our team works closely in supporting the primary administration platform for our Institutional business users. How youll help move us forward: Business Consultation Partner with business stakeholders to evaluate new ideas, vendors, and systems. Identify gaps and recommend cost-effective solutions for systems, processes, and procedures. Conduct business analysis to determine optimal solutions, including process improvements, system enhancements, training, and new software. Solution Delivery Scope and size initiatives with a focus on delivering minimal viable products (MVPs). Collaborate with stakeholders and delivery teams to prioritize work based on business value. Adapt approach and rigor based on project needs while maintaining agility. Provide oversight and alignment across impacted teams; propose alternative delivery options when needed. Write clear, actionable requirements and user stories with defined acceptance criteria. Present solutions and articulate value to gain stakeholder buy-in. Lead complex initiatives independently, ensuring alignment and execution. Analyze complex business problems and translate them into functional and technical system requirements as well as recommend practical and scalable solutions. Experience with configuring system settings and performing hands-on testing (unit, integration, acceptance). Process Stewardship Design integrated workflows demonstrating interoperability across systems, operations, and products. Apply industry best practices and standards to optimize business processes. The experience you bring: 5-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role. Bachelors degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). Proven experience in planning and deploying technology and process initiatives. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong analytical, decision-making, and creative problem-solving abilities. Experience with various project methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall). Ability to adapt to change and experiment with new ideas. What makes you stand out: Familiarity with data repositories, ETL, and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus. Working knowledge of SQL, data analysis tools, or process mapping software is a plus. Familiarity with tools commonly used in Finance/Fintech/Insurance (e.g., ERP systems, financial modeling tools, claims systems, etc.) is a plus. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location.
