Department Engineering Operations Job Summary Under general supervision, performs new electrical installations and repairs in the hospital and related facilities in accordance with management directives. Performs preventative maintenance according to applicable standards with accurate record keeping. Exercises initiative for emergent calls to include some fabrication. Ensure all repairs are made within set time limits. Essential Functions: Performs new electrical installations and electrical repairs to current systems in the hospital and related facilities. All work to be done according to National Electrical Code (NEC). 25% Installs conduit, make up conductors so no faults result, make connections to over current protection devices so that no heat buildup occurs. 20% Performs preventative maintenance according to applicable standards with accurate record keeping. 20% Tests generators competently and perform switchgear ties in and emergent situations. 5% Exercises initiative for emergent calls to include fabrication. 5% Communicate with immediate supervisor about tools and materials needed to complete assigned work.
