Job Description: Sr. Tax Analyst - Sales / Use Tax Compliance Current Need The Sr. Tax Analyst - Indirect Tax is a sales tax position on the sales tax compliance team. The Sr. Tax Analyst ensures compliance with all 50 U.S. States and Puerto Rico taxing jurisdiction rules, regulations, and reporting requirements for assigned Businesses. Assists Manager / Sr. Manager / Director and VP Indirect Taxes with project work, as assigned. Engages with assigned business unit personnel to ensure account reconciliations and associated journal entries are recorded, assists with compliance integration from acquisitions, authors and maintains SOPs for assigned businesses, assists with SUT audits, as needed, as well as other projects as identified. Job is in Irving, Texas. Position Description Timely and accurately prepares and files sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, and similar tax returns for assigned businesses, including the preparation of check requests / EFTs and associated information / documentation for journal entries, updates the tax calendar, prepares account reconciliations as needed and required, maintains accurate record keeping of the filed tax returns and supporting documentation, and other duties as determined related to the compliance function. Serves as liaison between Tax, Finance, Purchasing, IT, and Sales Departments for assigned businesses. Participates in projects to streamline processes for the companys tax collection and self-accrual, reporting and remittance responsibilities for assigned businesses. Assists in researching taxability of products and services as needed for assigned businesses, special projects, new acquisitions, coordinating with Sr. Manager Indirect Taxes, Transaction Tax Research Group, and Sr. Director Indirect Taxes. Monitors activities of assigned business for changes needed to tax compliance activities, presents information to Sr. Tax Manager and Sr. Tax Director, and implements changes as determined. Assists with the collection of documentation / data for SUT jurisdictional audits, as needed. Maintains accurate tax return preparation SOP for assigned businesses. Assists with business license data collection, preparation, and review, as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience. Critical Skills Bachelor degree preferably in Accounting or Finance Knowledge of sales and use tax from a nationwide level, including home rule jurisdictions Demonstrated competence with Vertex Returns Software Working knowledge of multiple ERPs including SAP, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards MS Excel Intermediate Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts, both written and verbal Demonstrated competence in research, analysis, and application of law Additional Knowledge & Skills Demonstrated competence in compliance activities, including data retrieval, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting Demonstrated competence in meeting required deadlines Demonstrated ability to work individually and as a member of a team Education 4-year degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience Physical Requirements General Office Demands We are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards.
