Your Team & Role As a Senior Infrastructure Administration Engineer, you will work alongside product owners, tech leads, designers, software engineers, and delivery professionals to support and improve our network infrastructure. Youll help manage Cisco networking equipment and contribute to automation projects using basic programming skills. In addition to technical expertise, youll bring problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, along with a willingness to learn and grow in a collaborative environment. What You Can Expect on a Typical Day Assist in the setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of Cisco routers, switches, wireless controllers, and firewalls. Support the automation of routine network tasks using simple scripts (Python, Shell, or similar). Provide services to software development teams to help them consume infrastructure solutions. Collaborate with team members to understand system requirements and deliver robust solutions. Document solutions and processes to support the adoption of developed solutions. Learn and apply network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, OSI Model, and common communication protocols. Participate in troubleshooting and resolving network issues using established design principles. Skills & Expertise You Bring Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering or experience in related fields CCNA certification or equivalent knowledge in Cisco networking infrastructure Experience with Cisco routers, switches, wireless controllers, and firewalls Basic programming experience (Python, Shell, or similar) for network automation tasks Understanding of network design principles and troubleshooting techniques Willingness to learn new skills and technologies on an ongoing Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills Experience and/or expertise with several of the following: Programming Languages: Python, Perl, Shell/Power scripting, Groovy, Modern languages Cisco Infrastructure: Cisco Routers, Switches, Wireless Controllers, and Firewalls. Cisco IOS Network design principles Frameworks: CloudFormation Infrastructure fundamentals Linux / UNIX Operating Systems: File Permissions, Network Configuration, Services, Process Manipulation Database Fundamentals: Schemas, Tables, Permissions, SQL Networking, TCP/IP and other common Communication Protocols: OSI Model, 3 Way Handshake, Stateful vs Stateless, Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Wireless controllers. Application Programming Interfaces (API): Consumption & Development Test/Quality capabilities & methodologies (functional & nonfunctional) and associated tooling including quality automation. Infrastructure & Cloud Security best practices including DevSecOps Dev Ops Tools & Practices: awareness, understanding of DevOps automation tools, practices & capabilities (continuous integration & continuous delivery) Operationalization & Monitoring; ITIL, Change, Incident, Problem Management, Industry standard tooling Understands the impact of the change in the environment on the platform, executed via manual/automated testing Cloud Computing: Understanding and knowledge (of 1 or more): AWS, Azure or GCP Cloud service consumption Disaster Recovery and High Availability Required Qualifications Background in Network Engineering with Cisco infrastructure LAN/WAN/Wireless/Authentication/Firewalls Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, FTD, ASA Administration of ISE AAA Spine/leaf and hierarchal network design Thorough understanding of network troubleshooting and design principles such as spanning-tree, Virtual Trunking Protocol, and broadcast domains. Experience programming in Python to manage Cisco infrastructure. Current experience as an Infrastructure developer focused on network infrastructure. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Cisco IOS / NX-OS. Experience with Cisco Routers, Switches, Access Points and other appliances. Experience with Cisco Firepower. Proficiency programming in Perl and Python. The salary range for this role is from $99,700.00 to $148,500.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
