About the role HealthFitness is looking for opening shift, part-time Lifeguards to join the aquatics team at our client site located in West Hartford, CT. As a lifeguard, you will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring a safe and friendly environment for all of the aquatic facility members and guests. Schedule: Up to 20 hours, Weekends either 7:45 am - 12:00 pm or 12:00 pm - 4:15 pm Responsible for monitoring and ensuring a safe and friendly environment for all of the aquatic facility members and guests. Key Accountabilities Monitor and ensure safety and well-being of patrons using the aquatic facilities. Enforce and explain rules as necessary. Respond appropriately to any emergency. Perform chemical testing and documents results for three bodies of water and a hot tub four times a day. Attend all required staff meetings and training. Maintain a professional attitude. Other duties as needed/assigned. Minimum Requirements Must be at least 16 years old. American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification. Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards. Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills. All lifeguards are required to perform a basic lifeguard skill test consisting of: 500 yard swim. Active, Passive, Submerged rescues. Spinal injury management in shallow and deep water. Other various techniques that were learned during the Lifeguard Training Program. Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test. Compensation: $16.94 - $17.50 per hour. Pay is dependent on experience and qualifications.
