Job Title: Senior Supply Specialist Reporting To: Manager, Process Work Schedule: Hybrid Buffalo, NY Moog is a performance culture that empowers people to achieve great things. Our team in Space & Defense Group, Fluid Controls Business Unit is looking for an intelligent, engaged, and personable candidate to join us as a Senior Supply Specialist. You will report to the Process Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in East Aurora, NY. Here's what you'll be working on day to day: New supplier evaluation, existing supplier management, and resolving sourcing issues. (Use Supplier Business Reviews to establish / monitor these plans.) Develops knowledge for key commodities that covers the market pricing, market make up, trends in the market, and alternative markets or technologies. (i.e Commodity Strategy) Supports proposal efforts including supplier selection and negotiations of supplier agreements. Works with Master Planners on outsourcing needs and establishing blanket purchase orders. Provides pricing information that will be used to support cost proposals being made to Moog customers. Leads cross-functional teams on finding new sources, supplier selections and negotiations. This includes process improvements for cost management. Works collaboratively with all functions to ensure conforming Source of Supply (this includes quality, design, cost, and timing issues.) Additional responsibilities relating to strategic procurement activities to include: Maintain part planning parameters in line with the agreed materials plan input as well as the suppliers latest planning information such as lead time etc. Responsible for conversion of demand signals into Purchase Orders (PO) in accordance with contractual terms and conditions and Moog systems and processes. Creation of Sole Source Justification and Price Analysis documents in support of Government DFAR regulations. Liaise with directly with the Supplier to obtain delivery commitments and provide the site with up-to-date information. Communicate and influence internal site functions such as Goods Inwards and Receiving Inspection (RI) to ensure parts are delivered to point of use as required. Coordination and support for supplier non-conformance and return to vendor (RTV). Coordinate and liaise between Site and Supplier or Regional supply chain (where applicable) to resolve issues such as Delivery/Quality/paperwork discrepancies. Identify and resolve deviations to contractual terms and conditions. Maintain supply chain flow of parts and/or information by backfilling other supply chain colleagues as needed to support timely supply chain issues. Responsible for effective communication within and outside of supply chain function, including escalations to leadership. To be considered for this role, here are the skills you'll bring with you: Bachelors Degree, preferred in the fields of Business, Engineering or Supply Chain with a minimum 5 years experience in a supply chain or operational role within a manufacturing environment. OR associate degree with a minimum of 9 years experience in a supply chain or operational role within a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of procurement processes including PO placement and schedule management. This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information. It would be great if you also had: Certification in Purchasing, Supply Chain or Program Management. Experience with FAR/DFAR requirements. Experience leading strategic supply chain initiatives. APICS or other industry standard certifications are a plus. An engineering or technical background is preferable. Whats in it for you? Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
