Power Engineer Intern

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative, and detail-oriented individual for a Power Engineering Internship with our R&D Automation department in Pullman, WA. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer. As an Power Engineer Inter, a typical day might include the following: You are a current student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with at least two years of technical coursework completed. You have practical knowledge of electrical power systems, including threephase circuits analysis and power flow. You have some knowledge of power systems operation, control and protection concepts. You have some experience with MATLAB, Simulink or PSCAD for power systems simulation. You have practical knowledge of SEL protective relays and automation controllers. You have the ability to use Microsoft Office software. You have the ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities. As a Power Engineering Intern, a typical day might include the following: Providing Technical support to SEL staff & customers. Developing and maintaining knowledge in SEL processes and technologies. Performing testing on new and existing technology. Documenting and communicating test results. Location Information - This position is 100% onsite in Pullman, WA. This position is based in our Pullman, WA headquarters. Pay Range Data ($20.00 - $30.00 per hour)* Our intern pay is determined based on the internship role (the work you would be doing) and your year in school (when you plan to graduate).
