Full Job Description

POSITION: Tennis Instructor -- P/T Hourly REPORTS TO: Tennis Coordinator McFetridge Sports Center Legends Global has an exciting immediate opening for a Tennis Instructor. The Tennis Instructor will be responsible for leading and assisting with beginner, intermediate, and advanced tennis lessons for youth and adult participants at McFetridge Sports Center. This role focuses on providing quality instruction, promoting skill development, and creating a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment for all participants. JOB RESPONSIBILITY AND DUTIES: Plan and lead tennis lessons, clinics, camps, and programs for youth and adult participants of various skill levels. Provide quality instruction on tennis fundamentals, including strokes, footwork, serving techniques, game strategy, and court positioning. Demonstrate proper tennis techniques and provide constructive feedback to improve participant skills. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all participants. Monitor participants during lessons and ensure proper use of equipment and tennis facilities. Adjust instruction methods based on participant age, ability level, and individual needs. Communicate professionally and effectively with participants, parents, guardians, and facility staff. Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled classes, lessons, and programs. Assist with setting up and breaking down tennis equipment, courts, and program materials. Follow all facility policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Report any facility concerns, injuries, incidents, or safety hazards to management promptly. Maintain current certifications and complete required training, including CPR certification if required. Provide excellent customer service and represent the facility in a professional manner. Complete other duties as assigned. SKILLS REQUIRED Strong knowledge of tennis fundamentals, rules, techniques, and gameplay strategies. Ability to teach and demonstrate tennis skills to participants of varying ages and ability levels. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage participants, parents, and staff. Ability to provide clear instruction, constructive feedback, and encouragement to support participant development. Ability to adapt teaching methods based on individual participant needs and skill levels. Ability to manage groups of participants while maintaining safety and engagement. Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a consistent teaching schedule. Basic understanding of injury prevention, emergency procedures, and facility safety practices. QUALIFICATIONS Applicant should have 2-3 years previous tennis instruction experience. Applicant must be CPR certified or willing to obtain CPR certification within their 90-day probationary period. Ability to work evening, morning, and weekend shifts PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS PTR or USPTA level 1 certification or higher or be registered to take the level 1 certification exam.
