Job Summary: We are seeking a hands-on, mechanically inclined Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This position involves working with legacy manual machines to produce precision components. A strong foundation in blueprint reading, measurement techniques, and machining principles is essential. Candidates must be prepared to demonstrate competency through a pre-employment skill assessment. Responsibilities: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models. Set up and operate manual machines such as lathes, mills, and grinders. Measure and inspect finished products to ensure they meet specifications and tolerances. Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools Collaborate with engineers and production staff to improve processes and product quality. Maintain a clean and safe work environment Adapt to legacy equipment with minimal automation; troubleshoot using hands-on diagnostic skills. Modify and adjust machine settings manually to maintain output quality and precision. Use precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, scales, and surface plateswith emphasis on calibration and accuracy Apply mathematical concepts including trigonometric functions and angle calculations to machine setup and part production Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred. Proven experience as a machinist in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers). Strong math and analytical skills. Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity. Must be able to pass a machining competency test. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods. Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
