Building Name: UVMMC - Medical Center - Main Campus Location Address: 111 Colchester Avenue, Burlington Vermont Regular Department: Sterile Processing Dept Day Full Time Standard Hours: 40 Biweekly Scheduled Hours: 80 Shift: Day Primary Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Weekend Needs: Rotating Salary Range: Min $22.28 Mid $28.69 Max $35.10 Recruiter: Kara Marszalkowski Overview Join The University of Vermont Medical Center as a Sterile Processing Technician on the full-time evening shift (3:00 PM 11:30 PM). This role supports surgical and procedural services by performing full-cycle sterile processing including decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of instruments across hospital and clinic settings. Responsibilities Clean and decontaminate surgical instruments and scopes Inspect, assemble, and package instrument trays Operate sterilizers and washer equipment Deliver sterile supplies to OR and procedural areas Maintain accurate tracking and inventory systems Follow infection prevention and quality standards Requirements Hospital-based sterile processing or central sterile experience required Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and aseptic technique Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment CRCST certification preferred or required within 12 months of hire Compensation & Schedule Full-Time Evening Shift: 3:00 PM 11:30 PM Pay Range: $22.28 $35.10/hour (based on experience) Evening shift differential: +$2.75/hr Weekend differential (rotating): +$3.50/hr Garage parking available for evening/weekend shifts Benefits & Incentives Up to $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible external applicants.* Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, PTO, 403(b), pet insurance, and tuition discounts. Growth Opportunities Advancement into Instrument Coordinator, Lead, Supervisor roles or transition into Operating Room support careers.
