Department Athletics, Baseball-OPS Compensation $20.00 Hourly UNF is seeking an Assistant Coach, Baseball to assist with all aspects of the mens baseball program, including the recruitment of qualified athletes, the coaching and instruction of student-athletes, monitoring and supporting academic progress and progression toward a degree, alumni and donor engagement, and more: Identifies and recruits academically and athletically talented student-athletes. Coaches the team, with special attention given to the development of: Infielders, team defense (including pitchers), first base coaching. Assisting with offense coaching, Assisting in creating all practice plans related to the above areas, and the bench coach advisor to the head coach in reference to all aspects, especially game planning, tactics, advanced scouting, and in-game management. Designs practice schedules and can run practices progressions & routines. Promotes individual player development and team culture. Aligned with the programs and universitys core values/mission. Assists in monitoring academic, social, and personal development of baseball student- athletes. Additionally, assists in coordinating team academic needs and study halls on the road. Assists in coordinating team community service efforts. Assists and is engaging with alumni development and fundraising efforts and events. Assists with the administration of summer baseball activities for the baseball student-athletes, with responsibilities including: summer collegiate league placement, summer academic needs, and all other activities related to the needs of the student-athletes in the summer. Required Qualifications The knowledge, skills, and abilities for this role include: Division I baseball experience, professional baseball experience, or equivalent. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to cultivate and build relationships with donors and alumni. Ability to support the University's Mission and Values in all aspects of the role. Detail-oriented. Bachelors degree required or five years of coaching or professional playing experience. Two to five years of demonstrated collegiate or professional baseball coaching experience. The candidate should possess knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and regulations and a commitment to adhere to all policies, rules, and regulations of the NCAA and ASUN Conference as required. The candidate must possess the ability to Work effectively with student-athletes, alumni, program boosters, the public, and administrative staff. Recruit, coach, and teach athletes with a wide range of skill levels the fundamentals and theories of baseball. Statement(s) of Understanding This position requires a background check. In conjunction with the University's policy, this position may also require a credit check. The holder of this position is designated as a Responsible Employee pursuant to their role under Title IX. Therefore, the incumbent must promptly report allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse by or against any student, employee, contractor, or visitor to the Universitys Title IX Administrator or any divisional Title IX Coordinator The holder of this position is responsible for any NCAA and Atlantic Sun Conference bylaws and guidelines that a member of the UNF Athletic Compliance Department provides in addition to all UNF regulations. The individual must also assure that NCAA, Conference and UNF regulations are followed to the best of their knowledge and any violations thereof are reported to UNF Athletic Compliance.
