Location Address: 2296 Woodale Drive Mounds View, MN 55112 Date Posted: May 12, 2026 Department: 84006772 Greater Minnesota & Physician Outreach Shift: Day/Evening/Night (United States of America) Shift Length: Variable shift length Hours Per Week: 40 Union Contract: L167-1-EMTs and Paramedics-TTR Weekend Rotation: Every Other Job Summary: Join Allina Health EMS as a Special Transportation Driver and play a vital role in patient care beyond emergency response. Youll help patients move safely and comfortably between care settings while being part of a trusted, hospitalbased EMS system that values compassion, reliability, and teamwork. Key Position Details: We are open 7 days a week, and we hire both 1.0 and 0.5 FTE positions. There are multiple start and end times within a day. Shifts are variable due to union seniority bidding every 6 months. Every other weekend rotation Job Description: Facilitates patient flow from the hospital by providing transportation to patients who are being discharged or transferred. Assists with the patient's physical needs by pushing their wheelchair and picking up and transporting their belongings. Operates vehicle in accordance with driving laws and company policy. Cleans and disinfects vehicle. Principle Responsibilities Provides transportation to patients. Assists patient with the patient's physical needs such as pushing their wheelchair and picking up and transporting their belongings. Submits billing information for each transport. Maintains vehicle. Cleans and disinfects. Operates vehicle in accordance with driving laws and company policy. Reports safety, potential safety hazards and maintenance requests. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description, with high school diploma or GED preferred MN Department of Transportation (MNDOT) training. MNDOT certification requires a minimum age of 18 and not less than one year of driving Licenses/Certifications Valid Commercial Driver Medical Certification required upon hire Valid Drivers License required upon hire - MN and WI residents must obtain a valid drivers license in their state of residence within 60 days of employment Physical Demands Heavy Work: Lifting weight up to 100 lbs. occasionally, up to 50 lbs. frequently Pay Range Pay Range: $20.59 to $29.34 per hour The pay described reflects the base hourly pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
