Senior Controls Engineer-Test Bench

Job Description Title: Senior Controls Engineer-Test Bench Key Accountabilities: Leads tasks to specify test bench electrical controls and devices applied to engine test bench Lead implementation of electrical hardware and software applications during equipment conception, design, and build Manage engine interface hardware and software applications during equipment conception, design, and build Leads development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and software, engine test bench automation system, and programmable logic controller Engage in the development and implementation of iT system architecture for overall data and system management Leads software programming maintenance and improvements to ensure no quality defects and a safe working condition Troubleshoot and support calibrations to individual devices and equipment Keep Sr. Management abreast of progress, developments and pending problems Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Global Code of Conduct Perform special projects as required Basic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Electrical Engineering and 5 years of industrial controls experience; or 9 years of industrial controls experience. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with iT Test Software Excellent background in controls architecture Excellent background in device and hardware troubleshooting Excellent analytical ability where problems are complex. Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others. Strong Ability to interpret blueprints and drawings. Strong oral and written communication skills. Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite Understanding of Statistical Process Control Systems and ability to interface to controls, automation, or Engine Control Units Understanding and utilization of process controls, i.e. Process Tuning, Thermocouples, Transducers, Meters, Valves, Sensors, etc Understanding of Engine Control Systems Diesel engine testing experience Ability to program C, C++, Visual Basic, Python Experience with database management Work Environment: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable an individual with disabilities to perform essential job functions. Daily work is performed in an office and manufacturing work environment. This position has a traditional work schedule during a Monday through Thursday (10-hour shift) work schedule. Also, for this position the employee may be asked to work overtime as needed. While performing tasks of this position, the employee is regularly required to operate a computer inside the facility. Next, an employee will be occasionally required to come in contact with wet or humid conditions, an ear protection required area and be in minimal contact with engine media fumes. Finally, this position occasionally requires the employee to be in contact with hazardous conditions. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, or reach within the facility. Also, the employee will occasionally be required to grasp items to carry that are 10-25 pounds once per day. Finally, the employee is occasionally required to push or pull items that are 10-25 pounds once per day.
