The Opportunity Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments and informatics systems are often the first step in patient care decision making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers. Our Diagnostics, Core Lab division is looking for a Procurement Specialist who will sit at our office in Lake Forest, IL. This role will execute global procurement support for the CoreDx Global Purchasing organization. You will provide support in managing supplier relationships, pricing, PO adjustments, invoice resolution, purchasing document verification and contracting. Work closely with suppliers, category managers and global operations to improve the quality, specifications and value of goods procured. Analyze and communicate supplier key performance indicators and support risk management for the supply base. Proactively seek and lead innovative ways to improve the procurement processes, cycle times, and customer service levels. Analyze supply chain related opportunities; take a broad perspective to identify and deliver solutions, drive change. What Youll Work On Manage day to day supply issues. Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures. Communicates proactively pertinent information to both internal customers and suppliers to keep apprised and to prevent supply risks. Apply experience and procurement knowledge to execute purchasing and supply management strategies with the Category Managers. The Procurement Specialist will have delegated authority to commit company funds while contributing cost savings and partnerships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Assist category managers in category strategy development and execution through analysis, supplier capability research & development of category purchasing trends Work with internal stakeholders and suppliers to solve issues and drive high levels of customer service. Coordinates the return of damaged goods, replacement items or credit arrangements with the help of senior staff. Proactively seek innovative ways to improve the procurement business processes, cycle times, and customer service level Support Purchase Order conversion, changes and adjustments, supplier documentation requests, supplier verification and invoice error resolution. Communicate and educate appropriate departments to provide supporting documentation for purchases. Exhibit cultural awareness with diverse business entities of internal/external customers and suppliers. Develop, cultivate and maintain business relationships with suppliers, clients and customers. Perform routine professional based activities, contribute and assist Category Managers with projects. Run, evaluate and maintain supplier reports. Assist with developing, tracking and analyzing key business metrics identifying key trends and gaps to support efficiency and compliance within Supply Chain organization. Monitors suppliers and track their performance, working with senior purchasing team members to resolve non-conforming product issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance Procurement performance and align with organizational goals through implementing best practices and data driven insights. Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors. Qualifications Required Bachelors Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance or related field OR equivalent combination of education and work experience Minimum 2 years experience in procurement, supply chain, or similar functional experience Preferred Previous procurement experience Microsoft office and SAP functionality Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment. Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment. Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects. Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization. Multitasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in timely manner. Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
