Tapestry Solutions supports 85 defense, commercial and government customers from over 50 US locations and nine countries. Tapestry Solutions, a part of Boeing Global Services BGS, is seeking a System Administrator in Hazelwood, MO. This position will be responsible for managing and maintaining program IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and computer systems under the supervision of senior IT staff. This role involves installing, configuring, and updating hardware and software, monitoring system performance, and ensuring security through the implementation of firewalls, antivirus programs, and access controls. The System Administrator troubleshoots technical issues, performs regular system backups, and restores data as needed to minimize downtime. Additionally, they collaborate with other IT staff to plan and execute system upgrades, enforce IT policies, and provide technical support to users, ensuring the smooth and secure operation of all IT services. Position Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and computer systems Monitor system performance and ensure reliability and availability Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls Implement and maintain security measures, including switches and antivirus software Perform regular system backups and data recovery operations Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues Apply software patches, updates, and system upgrades Document system configurations, procedures, and changes Collaborate with IT team members to plan and execute infrastructure improvements Provide technical support and training to end-users Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and industry regulations Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Active U.S. Secret Security clearance or higher Current CompTIA Security+ Certification Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows and/or Linux) and networking concepts Familiarity with server installation, configuration, and maintenance Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues Good communication and teamwork skills Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies Basic knowledge of backup and recovery procedures Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Knowledge of common scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals are advantageous Experience working in a classified environment Experience with STIGS Drug Free Workplace: We are a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.
