St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is looking to add a Barista (Part-Time). The Barista will ensure service standards are met and surpassed by creating the Starbucks experience for customers by providing prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment. Work Schedule: Part-time schedule, Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Some weekends and holidays are required based on operational needs. Job Responsibilities: Provides exceptional customer service by delivering legendary service with a customer comes first attitude. Engages with customers, responds to their needs, and uses a just say yes approach. Anticipates customer and store needs by continuously evaluating the store environment for cues. Identifies customer needs and makes appropriate product recommendations to enhance service and support sales goals. Assists customers in selecting and purchasing specialty coffee beverages and whole beans as needed. Presents oneself professionally and communicates using Star Skills in all interactions with customers and fellow associates. Adheres to Starbucks dress code. Prepares and serves quality beverages and food products to customers. Consistently delivers beveragesincluding espresso drinks and the Coffee of the Weekalong with food products and whole-bean coffee, adhering to all recipe and presentation standards. During preparation and service, it complies with state, federal, and Joint Commission health, safety, and sanitation guidelines. Maintain quality store operations by following operational flow procedures at each station. Organizes tasks to facilitate efficient customer service and keeps the environment clean and comfortable per Duty Rosters and cleaning standards. Follow inventory stocking and recording protocols and support compliance during store visits. Assists with merchandising, stocking, rotating, and storing products. Operate the cash register, including counting and verifying starting cash amounts. Accurately enters transactions by designated payment type (e.g., cash, gift card, credit card). Ensures register security by following all cash-handling policies and reports any discrepancies to a supervisor. Safely operates and maintains equipment. Uses beverage and food service equipment according to Starbucks and department policies. Disassembles and reassembles equipment for cleaning and performs maintenance per preventive checklists. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed to support the goals of the department and hospital. Maintains regular and predictable attendance. Minimum Education and/or Training: High school diploma or GED required. Minimum Experience: Previous barista or food service experience preferred. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required by SJCRH Only: (LC: BARISTA): Must obtain Barista Certification after completing Initial Store Training within six weeks of employment. (LC: SERVSAFE): ServSafe Food Handler Training Certificate Program or another ANSI-accredited Food Handler Training Certificate required within 30 days of hire. Employees must maintain current certification during employment. Compensation In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
