Position Summary... The Manager, Forecasting & Predictive Analytics serves as the strategic forecasting expert for Walmart Marketplace Operations, responsible for developing accurate workload forecasts and advancing forecasting capabilities through predictive analytics, statistical modeling, and data-driven insights. This role partners across Operations, Product, Finance, Marketing, Data Science, Business Analytics, and Workforce Management to transform complex business signals into actionable forecasts that enable informed business decisions. This position provides thought leadership and strategic influence across the organization, helping leaders anticipate demand, mitigate operational risks, and optimize business performance through advanced forecasting and analytics. What you'll do... Forecasting Strategy Lead forecasting strategy across Walmart Marketplace Operations. Develop and maintain short-, mid-, and long-range demand forecasts. Continuously improve forecast accuracy through statistical modeling, trend analysis, and predictive analytics. Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to evaluate the impact of changing business conditions. Predictive Analytics Design and implement predictive models to identify emerging demand trends and operational risks. Analyze key business drivers including seasonality, seller growth, marketing campaigns, product launches, policy changes, automation, and AI initiatives. Apply advanced analytical techniques to improve forecasting methodologies and business outcomes. Develop recommendations based on predictive insights to support proactive decision-making. Business Intelligence & Executive Insights Translate complex data into meaningful business insights and recommendations. Develop executive dashboards, forecasting scorecards, and trend analyses. Present forecasting assumptions, risks, opportunities, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership. Communicate forecast performance and business impacts to executive stakeholders. Cross-Functional Partnership Collaborate closely with: Operations Workforce Management Finance Product Management Marketing Seller Experience Business Analytics Data Science Engineering BPO Partners Innovation & Continuous Improvement Champion modern forecasting methodologies and predictive analytics capabilities. Drive automation of forecasting processes, reporting, and analytical workflows. Establish forecasting standards, governance, and best practices. Improve data quality and forecasting efficiency through continuous process improvement. Evaluate emerging analytical tools and technologies to enhance forecasting capabilities. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a related field. 8+ years of progressive experience in Workforce Forecasting, Demand Planning, Predictive Analytics, Business Analytics, or Data Science supporting large-scale operations. Demonstrated expertise in statistical forecasting, predictive modeling, and time-series analysis. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL. Experience with Tableau or Power BI. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and executive communication skills. Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive strategic decisions without direct authority. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related field. Experience with Python or R for predictive modeling and advanced analytics. Experience applying machine learning techniques to forecasting and demand planning. Experience with NICE CXone or NICE IEX. Experience supporting retail, eCommerce, marketplace, or omnichannel operations. Experience translating advanced analytics into executive-level business recommendations.
