Title and Summary Platform Engineer II Job Overview: Supports and provides input into the design, architecture, implementation, security and support of large multi-site, multi-vendor Data Center environments. Major Accountabilities: Manage and implement Data Center projects. Develop detailed requirements for upgrading existing MasterCard Data Center equipment, as well as re-architecting solutions in order to facilitate new requirements, technologies and growth. Resolve network communications and operations problems impacting Data Center equipment and performance globally. Participate in Data Center-related initiatives. Research and develop innovative solutions around unified Data Center solutions. Supports assigned regional projects, which include responsibility for planning; time and cost control; resource utilization and implementation. Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge / Experience: 1 to 3 years of overall IT experience in the following areas: Installing and maintaining Data Center hardware including switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, storage and servers (both blade and rack mount) Experience with circuit support and troubleshooting Knowledge of Mainframe environment and connectivity a plus Configuring Management interfaces (iDRAC, iLO, CIMC) and supporting infrastructure with the ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues Configuring Network ports and troubleshooting connectivity issues. Scripting is a plus Experience with Data Center Infrastructure Management tools Experience with Project Management methodology and best practices Skills/ Abilities: Strong verbal and written communications skills. Self starter with demonstrated listening skills and the ability to work effectively as a team member. Ability to employ network diagnostics General supervision, work may be reviewed after action is taken. In line with Mastercards total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
