Job TitlePostdoctoral Research Associate Agency Texas A&M Agrilife Research Department Biological & Agricultural Engineering Proposed Minimum Salary$4,166.67 monthly Job LocationCollege Station, Texas Job TypeStaff Job Description Responsibilities: Working with the Texas Water Observatory (TWO) collaborators collecting and analyzing field data under different agricultural practices and ecosystems and derive insights to soil-water-plant-atmosphere interactions in normal and extreme weather conditions that support sustainable agricultural water management and soil health management practices. Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present them at national and international conferences. Contribute to grant proposal development. Other duties as required. Required Education: PhD in Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Soil and Water Engineering, Hydrology, Remote Sensing or related disciplines Required Abilities, Knowledge or Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others Preferred Abilities, Knowledge or Skills: Strong background in satellite remote sensing of land surface and ecosystems attributes such as soil moisture, evapotranspiration, land use land cover and biomass, along with expertise in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques for precision water management. Strong foundation in vadose zone hydrology, irrigation, land-atmosphere interaction, and experience with process-based models, remote sensing, AI/ML applications Other Factors: In order to be considered for this position prior to your doctoral degree being conferred, please attach a letter from your schools official Graduate Office, Registrars Office or PhD Committee Chair certifying that all requirements for the doctoral degree have been met and stating the degree conferral date. This is a two-year funded position (with possibility of extension to a third year), renewed annually, based on performance and availability of funds. All positions are security-sensitive.
