POSITION SPECIFICS The Department of Plant Pathology and Environmental Microbiology is seeking a Research Technologist to assist on the investigation of the mechanism of tolerance in American elms that renders some trees more resistant to Dutch elm disease. The individual will assist and be supervised by a Ph.D. student working on this project and will perform molecular experiments and greenhouse and growth chamber duties to maintain elms provided by the US Forest Service. MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education. Required Certifications: None Qualifications: The successful candidate must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Competitive candidates must have basic plant science and lab experience. Experience on the Dutch elm pathosystem would be a plus.
