Position Title: Assistant Lecturer of History Compensation: $45,000 -$55,000 Department: History Start Date: 08/17/2026 About this opportunity: The Ball State University Department of History is looking for digital historian, with university teaching experience, and experience with internships. Experience with public history is preferred for this nontenure line. The candidate will start in August and will teach undergraduate digital history classes and internship classes. The candidate would be expected to contribute to the management of the history intern program. An ABD candidate would be considered but would be expected to have a terminal degree in three years. Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. with employer sponsorship. What you'll do and what you will bring: Position Function: The digital historian is being brought to Ball State University to teach undergraduates how to use technology as part of a public history based experiential education. Duties and Responsibilities: Teaches 4 classes, supervising student internships and working with Public History Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree by date of appointment.
