Position Summary... What you'll do... Role summary: The Senior Technician, General Facilities Maintenance, plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and appearance of facility equipment through routine preventive maintenance and timely repairs. This position involves diagnosing issues, performing complex repairs across multiple trades, and overseeing junior associates. The role requires managing maintenance schedules, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Senior Technician applies expert knowledge to support continuous improvement, deliver quality results, and maintain operational efficiency while fostering strong partnerships with stakeholders to meet business and customer needs. About the team: The General Facilities Maintenance team ensures Walmarts facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained through routine preventive maintenance and timely repairs. Team members apply expertise in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry to diagnose and resolve equipment issues efficiently. They manage maintenance schedules, coordinate with contractors, and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Focused on accurate documentation and prompt emergency response, the team supports operational excellence. Collaboration and continuous improvement guide their efforts, fostering a well-maintained environment that upholds Walmarts commitment to quality and service. What you'll do: Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities, equipment, and fixtures. Inspect, clean, and repair facilities equipment, documenting wear and recommending repairs or replacements. Conduct major and minor repairs across multiple crafts including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. Oversee junior associates, determine scopes of work, and act as job foreman on assigned projects. Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, parts inventory, and contractor compliance with quality and safety standards. Respond promptly to emergency calls and ensure all work meets regulatory and company requirements. Provide onsite training and expert guidance to support continuous improvement and operational excellence. What you'll bring: Proven experience in preventive and predictive maintenance for facility equipment and systems. Strong skills in equipment repair, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry trades. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and commitment to maintaining safety and compliance standards. Ability to interpret blueprints, repair manuals, and technical documentation for accurate diagnostics. Experience managing maintenance schedules, work orders, and contractor oversight. Proficiency with hand and power tools, hoists, and diagnostic equipment. Effective communication and leadership skills to guide junior associates and coordinate projects. Strong organizational skills for inventory management, budgeting, and reporting maintenance activities. The hourly wage range for this position is $21.00 - $40.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.
