ROLE SUMMARY: The Barback performs daily bar operations and maintains established operating procedures to provide the highest level of customer services while creating a positive environment and experience for guests. They multitask and manage a fast-paced work flow while keeping the bar fully stocked with fresh garnishes and juiced citrus. They continue to engage with guests to ensure theyre happy with their experience. This position works under the direction of the Tasting Room Assistant General Manager. Daily Duties, Functions, Responsibilities: JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Keep bar and bar area clean, organized, and free of any spills. Keep the bar fully stocked at all times (including juices, batches, flatware, service stations, napkins, etc.) Change empty beer kegs. Prep garnishes (lemon and lime wheels, mint, dehydrated fruit, edible flowers, berries, herbs, olives, etc), and label and date containers. Refill ice wells. Juice citrus daily and properly store them in bottles that are labeled and dated. Continuously keep glassware stocked and polished . Empty any bus tubs from bar area and have them washed out before returning to bar. Restock liquor bottles, citrus, garnishes, canned cocktails. Put away all liquor deliveries such as beer, canned cocktails, spirits, wine etc. Keep an eye on patron intoxication levels, respond appropriately, and alert management. Run food and promptly clear plates from customers, including pre-bussing at all touch points. Assist the bartenders with requests relating to the bar and team. Follow recipes and batch syrups for bartenders as needed. Have working knowledge of the POS system and assist with entering orders into the POS system as needed. Identify customer issues, and work with management when needed to resolve promptly while maintaining a safe and positive environment. Display genuine enthusiasm for the brand, products and company mission. Offer knowledgeable recommendations based on customer questions and assessment of customer needs and preferences. Check customer identification in compliance with law and Tasting Room standards. Perform all opening and closing tasks daily. Manage multiple tasks including fulfilling the duties as a busser, food runner and server or bartender when appropriate. Embraces and fulfills the core values and culture of Cutwater Spirits. Great at communication skills Outgoing personality Ability to manage responsibilities in a high-demand, fast-paced working environment Ability to problem-solve and deal with unique customer situations Ability to follow oral and written instructions Ability to communicate effectively Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends Good time management skills; Can manage and complete priorities and workflow, and be detail-oriented Must be at least 21 years of age Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a cash register/POS Must have reliable transportation and be punctual JOB QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required. 1+ years experience working in the food service industry. One year of barback experience preferred. Food handlers card and RABS certification required (within first 30 days of employment).
