Job Description WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? RBC U.S. Finance team is seeking an Associate Director to join the regulatory reporting and strategy function for the U.S. Intermediate Holding Company (IHC) and U.S. Branches, responsible for the preparation, review and timely submission of regulatory reports, as well as, driving optimization and automation of regulatory reporting processes and platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for workflow production, controls execution and play an integral part in ensuring that RBC maintains a highly rated U.S. regulatory reporting program including meeting all applicable FRB, OCC, FDIC and FFIEC requirements. WHAT WILL YOU DO? Lead in the end-to-end process for regulatory report preparation, review and timely submission of FRB and OCC regulatory reports and filings (including but not limited to the FR 2004, FR Y-14M, FR Y-14Q, FR Y-6, FR Y-7 and FR Y-10) with responsibility for ensuring operational effectiveness in compliance with the regulatory reporting controls and governance environment Drive report automation, enhancements, process optimization and ongoing management of the regulatory reporting platform and processes to improve accuracy and efficiency Develop and maintain a strong internal controls environment over the regulatory reporting process to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and best practices Drive internal assessment of the impact of changes in the broader regulatory environment and requirements to RBCs reporting obligations Partner with various internal stakeholders (i.e. Legal, Compliance, Line of Business units, Audit, Controllers, Operations) to execute change initiatives Identify potential risk areas through review of regulatory reporting policies, procedures and controls and drive potential corrective actions to ensure compliance with regulatory standards Build, mentor and manage a high-performing team of regulatory reporting professionals fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and technical excellence WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED? Must have: Strong knowledge of and experience in U.S. regulatory reporting coupled with experience in regulatory project delivery within the financial services industry Hands-on experience with AxiomSL or similar reporting platform including data integration, automation and optimization of reporting processes Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information to senior management and regulators Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing team Nice-to-have: Bachelors degree (Accounting or Finance preferred) and/or CPA or advanced degree Strong knowledge of financial products and reporting standards applicable to a U.S. financial services industry Working knowledge of balance sheet and income statement inputs Strategic thinker with ability to lead and influence in an evolving environment and work across functions/businesses Proficiency in data management and analytics tools (SQL, Python, Tableau etc.) and strong Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel) skills The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $85,000 - $145,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidates experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
