Position Specific Information (if Applicable): Position: HS French Teacher Reports To: Upper School Principal Position Status: Full-Time Position Class: Exempt Contract Days: 181 days Schedule: M-F Salary/Pay: Staff Compensation & Retention Policy Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, PERA Overview: The French teacher at SkyView will be responsible for ensuring that students in grades 9-12 have access to a high quality and rigorous French program as one of their world language options. Desired Qualifications and Attributes: Bachelors Degree. Knowledge and experience that supports teaching students French. While a degree in Education and/or French is preferable, we welcome applicants who possess the knowledge and skills to facilitate a rigorous curriculum and provide needed support in these courses. Engage students in meaningful Socratic dialog on a consistent basis. Differentiate instruction to address various learning styles. Demonstrate effective classroom management and discipline. Communicate proactively with students, staff, and parents. Attend Capturing Kids Hearts, a 3-day training, during the summer, if hired. Develop curriculum with assistance from the High School Principal and/or High School faculty. Understand that student learning is the measure of successful teaching. Embrace feedback from administration in a continuous improvement modality. Implement the SVA standards-based grading policy. Build appropriate professional relationships with students.
