Building Name: UVMMC - Medical Center - Main Campus Location Address: 111 Colchester Avenue, Burlington Vermont Regular Department: Security Full Time Standard Hours: 40 Biweekly Scheduled Hours: Shift: Evening Primary Shift: - Weekend Needs: Every Salary Range: Min $25.00 Mid $31.45 Max $37.89 Recruiter: Aaron Ducatte JOB DESCRIPTION: Each University of Vermont Medical Center Security Officer is assigned to a specific Campus. The primary responsibilities of the Security Officer are to conduct patrol duties, respond immediately to emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance, and document services provided on each shift. The Security Officer is expected to act in a courteous and professional manner at all times. Note: Emergency calls for assistance frequently require Security Officers to take the lead in controlling a violent/threatening situation after clinical and non-clinical staff have attempted to verbally deescalate a difficult situation. Security intervention frequently requires detaining and/or restraining the violent patient, visitor, or staff member. EDUCATION: High School graduate or equivalent Valid drivers license and safe driving record EXPERIENCE: Prior security or public safety experience preferred, with an emphasis on providing a safe and dignified environment in stressful situations with a diverse patient, visitor and staff population.
