Chemical Technician We are looking for a Chemical Technician to join our Lansing, NY team! The successful candidate will support materials testing and analysis through preparation, execution, and documentation of chemical tests on metals, ceramics (glass) and other inorganic materials. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results for clients in aerospace, automotive, medical, and other high-performance industries. Mechanical sample prep will include cutting, drilling and grinding of metal samples. Chemical sample prep will include mainly acid digestions of metal samples and dilutions. Analyze samples using a variety of analytical instrumentation. Analytical instrumentation may include but are not limited to an oxygen/nitrogen/hydrogen analyzer, carbon/sulfur determinator, and particle size analyzer. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring calibration and cleanliness. Accurately record data and observations on datasheets and in LIMS systems. Assist in method development and validation under the guidance of senior chemists. Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Support quality assurance initiatives and participate in internal audits as needed. What You Bring Associates degree 13 years of laboratory experience preferred, especially in a materials testing or analytical lab. Familiarity with analytical instruments such as ICP-OES, OES and combustion analyzers. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex procedures. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Experience with ISO 17025 or other quality management systems. Knowledge of metallurgy, materials science, or metals chemistry.
