STV is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Specialist to join our Transportation team in Hartford, CT. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of transportation infrastructure projects, including bridge design, rehabilitation, and structural analysis. The successful candidate will collaborate with experienced engineers and designers while developing technical skills and gaining exposure to all phases of project delivery. In this role, you will support the design and analysis of transportation structures, assist with the preparation of construction documents, and contribute to the successful execution of projects throughout the region. Responsibilities: Assist in the design and analysis of bridge and transportation infrastructure projects. Prepare construction documents, including plans, details, specifications, and supporting calculations. Review shop drawings and contractor submittals for conformance with project requirements. Support project teams in developing engineering solutions for new and existing transportation structures. Perform engineering calculations and analyses using industry-standard software. Assist with hydraulic and scour evaluations for bridge projects, as needed. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery. Utilize company-wide and department-specific software to complete project assignments. Gain practical experience and broad exposure to STVs organizational structure through diverse assignments and project responsibilities. Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university. 03 years of relevant bridge or transportation engineering experience. Experience using MicroStation. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification. Experience with bridge analysis and design, including bridge rehabilitation projects. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Finite Element Analysis software. Experience using OpenRoads Designer, OpenBridge Designer, and ProjectWise. Knowledge of HEC-RAS, bridge hydraulics, and scour evaluation. Familiarity with AASHTO bridge design standards. Experience with state DOT design standards and plan preparation.
