Position Summary... What you'll do... The (USA) Museum Guide leads engaging and informative tours tailored to various visitor groups, enhancing their understanding of exhibits and cultural heritage. This role involves delivering detailed explanations, facilitating interactive educational programs, and providing exceptional customer service. The guide ensures accurate, up-to-date information while maintaining visitor safety and adhering to established protocols. Continuous professional development and mentoring of new docents are integral to this position. The Museum Guide actively supports the museums mission by promoting exhibitions and fostering a positive, respectful environment for all visitors. Our team delivers engaging guided tours that highlight Walmarts heritage through interactive, tailored experiences. Members provide clear, detailed explanations of exhibits while upholding high standards of customer service, safety, and ethical conduct. The team adapts to various visitor needs, supports ongoing learning, and fosters collaboration. By sharing comprehensive knowledge and creating meaningful connections, the team plays a key role in preserving and promoting Walmarts history and mission. Each member contributes to making every visit informative and memorable, ensuring a positive and enriching experience for all audiences. What Youll Do Lead guided tours for various visitor groups, providing explanations of exhibits Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing visitor inquiries and offering assistance throughout their museum experience. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of exhibits and museum content, ensuring accuracy in all communications. Promote visitor safety by following established protocols and implementing emergency procedures when necessary. Welcomes visitors and customers into Waltons 5&10 and direct museum visitors into museum Operates registers to ring in sales Knowledgeable of pricing of products Follow cash handling procedures and policies Follows standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating and storing of products Answers the telephone, practicing proper phone etiquette Performs cleaning tasks in accordance with duty lists and standards What Youll Bring Proven experience leading engaging guided tours and tailoring content to various audiences. Strong public speaking skills with the ability to clearly explain historical context and exhibit significance. Commitment to exceptional customer service and responsiveness to visitor inquiries. Ability to adapt tours and programs to meet different group needs and enhance visitor engagement. Knowledge of emergency response protocols and dedication to maintaining visitor safety. Upholds high ethical standards and professionalism in all interactions. Willingness to participate in ongoing training and mentor new team members. Proficient in cash handling and maintaining accurate records during tours. Minimum qualifications Prior experience in customer service, public speaking, or teaching. Preferred qualifications Prior experience working or volunteering in a museum or cultural institution. The hourly wage range for this position is $15.00 - $23.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.
