Department Athletics Compliance & Academics-OPS Compensation $15.00 Hourly Job Summary/Responsibilities The Cheerleading Coach is responsible for coaching cheerleaders on techniques and routines for events and competitions. This includes managing tryouts, selecting team members, and providing instruction during practices and performances. The coach will also coordinate travel and logistics for cheerleading competitions, develop competitive routines, and ensure team readiness for local and national events. Preferred Qualifications Experience in competitive cheerleading environments and familiarity with national competition standards. This position requires a level II background check Required Qualifications Manage cheerleader tryouts and select a team that positively represents a Division I program. Coach and instruct cheerleaders on rules, regulations, equipment usage, and techniques. Observe cheerleaders during events and practices to determine individual and team improvement needs. Coordinate with athletics administrators for game day responsibilities and community engagement. Ensure compliance with institutional, conference, NCAA, and NCA rules and regulations. Report all known NCAA violations in accordance with policies and procedures. Maintain accurate inventory of equipment and apparel. Follow procedures for business office, academics, eligibility, sports medicine, strength & conditioning and marketing. Meet annual fundraising goals set by athletic administration. Manage the cheerleading program within the allotted budget. Hold a current coaching credential recognized by USA Cheer. Certified in CPR-AED or able to become certified. Coordinate and lead participation in cheerleading camps and competitions, including collaboration on choreography, travel planning, and performance evaluation. Experience in judging or organizing cheerleading competitions is preferred. Will be classified as a Campus Security Authority and Responsible Employee required to report knowledge of crimes and/or misconduct. Statement(s) of Understanding This position requires a background check. In conjunction with the University's policy, this position may also require a credit check. The holder of this position is designated as a Responsible Employee pursuant to their role under Title IX. Therefore, the incumbent must promptly report allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse by or against any student, employee, contractor, or visitor to the Universitys Title IX Administrator or any divisional Title IX Coordinator This position has been designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). This position has been designated as a CSA because it involves significant responsibility for student and campus activities and/or responsibility for campus security. As such, any person in this position must report to the University Police Department a crime or an incident that might be a crime that he/she becomes aware of. This position has a reporting requirement because the University believes that responsibility for students, campus activities and/or campus security will make the holder of this position someone members of the University community will see as an authority figure and someone to whom they can seek help. A CSA is not expected to investigate or determine whether a criminal incident actually took place. A CSA s responsibility is a duty to report. All positions designated as CSAs are required to complete an online or in - person training session. The holder of this position is responsible for any NCAA and Atlantic Sun Conference bylaws and guidelines that a member of the UNF Athletic Compliance Department provides in addition to all UNF regulations. The individual must also assure that NCAA, Conference and UNF regulations are followed to the best of their knowledge and any violations thereof are reported to UNF Athletic Compliance.
