D365 EXPERIENCE REQUIRED CHICAGO RESIDENCE REQUIRED FOR HYBRID 2 DAYS PER WEEK IN OFFICE POSITION SUMMARY The D365 ERP Business Analyst plays a key role in supporting the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Marmon Rails ERP program across Finance and Operations. Reporting to the ERP Senior Product Owner, the BA partners closely with the Technical Product Owners, Business Process Owners, and IT teams to ensure ERP solutions meet business needs while maintaining data integrity and technical scalability. This role bridges functional and technical perspectivesanalyzing business processes, defining system requirements, supporting configuration and data efforts, and ensuring ERP (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and Customer Engagement) solutions are optimized for efficiency and accuracy. The D365 ERP Business Analyst is both a process thinker and a technical problem solver who thrives in a collaborative, agile environment. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Partner with the ERP Senior Product Owner and Technical Product Owner to define, refine, and execute ERP roadmap initiatives. Work with Business Process Owners and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to document future-state system requirements, identifying opportunities for optimization through D365 functionality or automation. Translate business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications alongside the implementation partner, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Collaborate with developers and solution architects to validate technical feasibility and alignment with ERP architect. Support data-related activities, including data mapping, validation, and reconciliation during migration and ongoing master data governance efforts. Participate in configuration design sessions and assist with setup or validation of D365 modules (CE and FO). Develop and execute test cases and test scripts for functional, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT). Analyze and troubleshoot issues, coordinating resolution with technical teams. Support training material development and deliver user education sessions on system processes or new features. Contribute to documentation including requirements, business process maps, and release notes. Collaborate with Change Management and Continuous Improvement teams to drive user adoption and process alignment. Provide regular reporting on requirements progress, testing outcomes, and risk or issue mitigation. Manage day-to-day tasks in Azure Dev Ops. SKILLS / SPECIFICATIONS Strong understanding of ERP business processes in Finance, Operations, or Supply Chain domains. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 FO) and familiarity with Customer Engagement (D365 CE) modules. Ability to analyze, model, and document complex business processes and translate them into system requirements. Working knowledge of data structures, data validation, and basic SQL or reporting tools for issue investigation. Experience supporting or testing ERP integrations and data migration activities. Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities with attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to bridge business and IT perspectives. Experience in Agile delivery frameworks, including backlog refinement, sprint participation, and user story creation. Highly organized, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to travel up to 1520%, particularly during implementation and go-live cycles. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors Degree in Business, Information Systems, Accounting, Supply Chain, or related field required. 35 years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role supporting business applications (D365 required). Experience participating in implementations, upgrades, or integrations. Familiarity with data management, testing, and system configuration practices. D365 certifications desirable.
