We will be establishing offices in Austin, Boston, Chicago, Denver, New York City, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Raleigh and Toronto. These cities will serve as key hubs for our operations. Candidates interested in these opportunities should reside within a reasonable commuting distance from one of these future office locations, as employees will be expected to work from the office at least three days a week. This approach will enable us to cultivate a collaborative and innovative environment while providing the flexibility that modern work demands. This position will be based out of Denver office. Overview As a Software Engineer, youll contribute to the development of new features and enhancements across Kiras platform. Youll work within a collaborative Agile team, writing clean, maintainable Clojure code, participating in code reviews, and learning from experienced engineers. Youll be involved in the full software development lifecyclefrom design and implementation to testing and deploymentwhile growing your technical skills and domain expertise in lawtech. Key Responsibilities Write high-quality, idiomatic Clojure code that meets development and quality standards. Implement features and fixes based on user requirements and product goals. Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and release activities. Review defects, identify root causes, and implement remediation steps. Collaborate with engineers and product managers to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria. Contribute to code reviews and learn best practices in functional programming and software design. Take ownership of assigned tasks and deliver them within expected timeframes. Required Qualifications 26 years of professional software development experience. Proficiency in Clojure or another functional programming language, with a willingness to deepen Clojure expertise. Solid understanding of software development principles (e.g., object-oriented design, SOLID, design patterns). Ability to work independently after receiving guidance and instructions. Comfortable with modern development methodologies (Agile, CI/CD, version control). Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Preferred Skills Experience in lawtech, legal document analysis, or NLP/ML domains. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and distributed systems. Exposure to databases (SQL or Datomic), RESTful APIs, and microservices. Experience with front-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript, React) is a plus. Success Metrics Delivers functioning, maintainable code with minimal defects. Completes tasks on time with minimal supervision. Actively participates in code reviews and team discussions. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Litera offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
