Job Description: Dietary Aide Buffalo Prairie Care Center Location: Buffalo, MO Position Type: Full-Time Starting Wage: $15.00 per hour Position Summary Buffalo Prairie Care Center is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and hardworking Dietary Aide to join our team. As a Dietary Aide, you will play an essential role in providing nutritious, high-quality meals to our residents while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary dining environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working with seniors, demonstrates excellent customer service, and is committed to enhancing the dining experience for our residents. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with meal preparation according to standardized recipes and dietary guidelines. Prepare meal trays and serve meals following physician-ordered diets and resident preferences. Deliver meals and snacks to residents in a courteous and timely manner. Assist residents during mealtimes as needed while promoting dignity and independence. Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment. Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, dining rooms, and kitchen equipment. Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and infection prevention standards. Properly store food items and rotate inventory using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures. Stock kitchen supplies and notify the Dietary Manager of items needing replenishment. Dispose of trash and maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment. Work cooperatively with nursing staff and other departments to meet resident nutritional needs. Follow all facility policies, HIPAA regulations, and resident rights. Perform other duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager or Administrator. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous dietary, food service, or healthcare experience is preferred but not required. Ability to obtain or maintain a Food Handler's Permit if required. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. Dependable attendance and positive attitude. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
