What Youll Do Define and lead architecture for core infrastructure automation components, including orchestrators, workflow engines, configuration managers, and auto-remediation pipelines. Build and scale intent-based networking capabilities that abstract away manual operations and enable real-time, policy-driven infrastructure control. Design extensible APIs and microservices that empower internal teams through intuitive, self-service automation. Lead platform reliability practicesensuring high availability, robust observability, and clear incident response workflows. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (networking, SRE, cloud, security, observability) to align technical solutions with business needs. Mentor and influence engineers across the organization, shaping Walmarts infrastructure engineering culture and best practices. Who You Are A strategic and hands-on engineering leader with 10+ years of experience building distributed systems or infrastructure platforms at scale. Deep expertise in infrastructure as code, network automation, and intent-based system design. Proficient in Go, Python, and frameworks like Django. Comfortable operating in environments with high reliability and uptime expectations (SLOs, error budgets, on-call rotations). Familiar with modern DevOps tooling: CI/CD pipelines, monitoring/alerting frameworks, GitOps practices. Experienced with source-of-truth systems (e.g., NetBox) and hybrid/cloud-native environments (Azure, GCP a plus). The annual salary range for this position is $95,000.00 - $165,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
