Food Production Assistant - Part Time - Rotating Shifts In this role, you will produce salads, sandwiches, fruit and other cold preparation items in the main kitchen, supporting retail and patient meals. You'll clean production tools, equipment, and work area, including sweeping and mopping as needed, disposing of garbage, and using approved chemicals to clean workstation, tools and equipment. Portion and plate breakfast, lunch and dinner on the hot tray line for patient meals according to prescribed diet and tray ticket. Properly label and date prepared items, rotating all items according to First In, First Out. In addition, use your strong understanding of sanitation and food safety to maintain work areas in a safe manner and produce food in accordance with regulatory standards and hospital policies. Help with management of walk-in boxes, supplies and deliveries. You will also have the ability to strictly follow recipes, job routine and other instructions given by departmental leadership. This is a part time position, requiring variable shifts between the hours of 6:00am-8:00pm, and every weekend/including holidays. Preferred Criteria High School Diploma or GED Extensive customer service experience and a desire to Put Patients First Experience in the hotel, restaurant, or retail industry Required Criteria Ability to read and write English in order to pull ingredients on standardized recipes Ability to comprehend and follow both oral and written instructions regarding food preparation and regulatory requirements Must have the ability to safely operate commercial kitchen utensils and equipment and to comprehend written instructions regarding their use and maintenance Knowledge of food preparation techniques, safe knife handling and production skills Join a healthcare system where employee engagement is at an all-time high.
